Kids love essential oils. This one will help them feel calm and cared for.
Child Chiller is a sweet, rosy-citrus blend that's especially helpful for setting a calm and relaxed mood. Use in children's bedrooms, daycares, during birthday parties, or any time of stress or overwhelm in general! I like to add this to a little almond or olive oil and give the kids foot massages before bed if they are wound up. This blend is diluted in jojoba oil, so you can apply a little bit directly to the skin. I will put some on the kids clothing on their way to school if they are feeling a little off and now they ask for it. We also add this one to the bath or laundry as it smells so good.
Some other ways to chill your child include warm baths, dim lighting, meditation (try an app with guided mediation) and calming child-safe products like: Sleepy blend, Lavender, Magneluvures, Traumease, and Calm mind.
Dominant oils: Lavender, Sweet orange, Rose geranium, jojoba
Important notes on essential oils:
Essential oils offer very potent medicine. Just a few molecules of an inhaled essential oil impacts the brain۪s limbic system in seconds and can quickly shift our physiology and mood. This can happen even before we register the smell in our nose. Make no mistake about it~ essential oils may smell flowery and are used in perfumes, but they have potent action and should be used with care and respect.
Only use these essential oils externally. Dilute essential oils in lotion or vegetable carrier oil before massage or other topical use. Some oils, like lavender or tea tree can be applied in small amounts, directly on the skin. Some essential oils are caustic to the skin (like cinnamon) and others will make your skin much more sensitive to the sun (none of the oils being sold here).
Too much of any oil can make you nauseous and give you a headache~ so start slowly. If you use too much, wash the skin with milk, nothing else works as quickly.
Wearing diluted oils as a perfume is a way to get continued effect. Start with 1-3 drops in a carrier oil of choice (ie. almond, jojoba, coconut, olive). Since they are natural, they are usually well tolerated by even people with chemical sensitivities.
Diffusing oils in a diffusor or in a bowl with steaming water will fill the room with wonderful smells and often brighten the mood. For sinus clearing, I suggest therapeutic application of steam inhalation for 5 minutes twice daily. To add to the bath, it is best to mix a few drops in a bit of milk and then add to the bath. The reason for this is that otherwise the oil will just sit at the top of the water.
Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, have any health conditions, or are taking medications, please consult your healthcare provider prior to using essential oils.
