Helps you wake up, stay alert and remain on task
This light, awakening and uplifting blend of lemony fresh oils supports mental clarity and focus. It's perfect for studying, working or staying mindful with the kids. Diffuse or wear this blend to help with states of distraction, poor attention span, memory difficulties, or just difficulty getting up and going. Studies have shown that if you smell a specific scent while studying, your recall will be better when you smell it again. Rosemary essential oil has been celebrated as the best plant for memory support. Other support to maintain focus includes keeping sugar low in the diet and staying well hydrated (especially with electrolytes). If anxiety is draining your attention-span, consider Lavela caps during the day and a Magnelevures packet at night. And, of course, incorporate daily mindfulness activities like sitting or moving meditation. Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference.
Dominant oils: Rosemary, May chang, Lemongrass, jojoba oil
Chinese Medicine functions: Tonifies the Qi, raises the clear Yang to the brain and strengthens the Shen
Important notes on essential oils:
Essential oils offer very potent medicine. Just a few molecules of an inhaled essential oil impacts the brain's limbic system in seconds and can quickly shift our physiology and mood. This can happen even before we register the smell in our nose. Make no mistake about it~ essential oils may smell flowery and are used in perfumes, but they have potent action and should be used with care and respect.
Only use these essential oils externally. Dilute essential oils in lotion or vegetable carrier oil before massage or other topical use. The blends featured here are all diluted a little bit, you can dilute more. Some oils, like lavender or tea tree can be applied in small amounts, directly on the skin. Some essential oils are caustic to the skin (like cinnamon) and others will make your skin much more sensitive to the sun (none of the oils being sold here).
Too much of any oil can make you nauseous and give you a headache~ so start slowly. If you use too much, wash the skin with milk, nothing else works as quickly.
Wearing diluted oils as a perfume is a way to get continued effect. Start with 1-3 drops in a carrier oil of choice (ie. almond, jojoba, coconut, olive). Since they are natural, they are usually well tolerated by even people with chemical sensitivities.
Diffusing oils in a diffusor or in a bowl with steaming water will fill the room with wonderful smells and often brighten the mood. For sinus clearing, I suggest therapeutic application of steam inhalation for 5 minutes twice daily. To add to the bath, it is best to mix a few drops in a bit of milk and then add to the bath. The reason for this is that otherwise the oil will just sit at the top of the water.
Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, have any health conditions, or are taking medications, please consult your healthcare provider prior to using essential oils.
