Golden Immune Honey Ingredients from The Nourish Me Kitchen

You can quickly mix up this age-old remedy and add it to hot water or tea to rapidly reduce inflammation, whether it be in the joints or in the respiratory tract due to allergies or a cold or flu. This medicinal honey is best made as needed, to support the immune system or soothe arthritis. During colds and flu or an allergy attack, you may want to have some every few hours. Turmeric, ginger and black pepper are a powerful trio, and if you can add it them to Manuka honey, your immune system will really sing.

  • 1⁄4 cup Manuka honey or raw local honey

  • 2 tablespoons grated fresh turmeric root or 2 teaspoons turmeric powder

  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

  • 1⁄4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 2 to 3 dashes cayenne

 1. Run the outside of a small glass jar under hot water so it’s nice and warm and will soften the honey for easier mixing.

2. Add all of the ingredients to the jar and stir well. Cover and refrigerate for up to 10 days.

3. Mix 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of the honey into a cup of hot water and enjoy often.
